Welcome to the inaugural article for “Behind the Rack”! Before I explain how RackTop Systems can solve some of your IT problems, I thought I would start with an introduction. I am Jonathan Halstuch, co-founder of RackTop. I have a diverse history in The Information Technology field working as an engineer, entrepreneur, and manager. I have always gravitated towards modernization projects which gain efficiencies while simplifying and improving the users overall experience. I have worked in both the private and public sector and I can confirm many of the IT challenges are the same. I am starting this personal blog to share my thoughts and relate past experiences. I will discuss current technology trends and what we are doing at RackTop to address common, yet unresolved, IT problems facing IT practitioners and business executives.
IT solutions should be easily replicated, simple to configure and use, and efficient. Get value straight from the product, not the reseller. I have repeatedly found myself in the situation of trying to acquire a new reliable IT product with reasonable support and left feeling I had only two categories of options. I had a choice between the open source solution with inadequate support and the gold-plated Enterprise solution with a high price tag, confusing options, and complexity that required a team of experts to properly configure it.
RackTop goes beyond these options and creates a third category; a balanced solution that facilitates your organization’s mission, grows with your business, and doesn’t require a consultant or team of experts to get it working for you. I hope to make RackTop’s the foundational building blocks of your organization’s IT systems and give you the confidence that RackTop’s will endure as the best solution for your organization. Depending on the size of your organization, your needs may be met with just one RackTop, or, for a much larger problem set, you may need more. In any event, you can start off with one and see how simple, economical, dependable, and useful RackTop’s can be.
It’s time for a paradigm shift in business computing. You would not buy a car that required the car dealer’s certified drivers to drive you where you needed to go every day. People today are more dependent on computers than cars. Computers need to help you take your business where you need it to go on your own too.
This is the start of a journey to better computing.
