At DISA/JSP’s 2021 Cybersecurity Forum, attendees will examine the agencies’ cybersecurity readiness, learn better security practices, complete trainings, and look for technologies that can connect and protect warfighters in cyberspace.
Cybersecurity in a Hyper-connected World
The forum will have a focus on individuals and organizations to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace, stressing personal accountability and the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity. We’re encouraging users to be accountable for their cybersecurity and enact positive user behavior change by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication, updating privacy settings, creating strong passwords and maintaining good cyber hygiene. With that being said, we will have a wide range of speakers and topics. The event will also feature industry sessions to provide attendees with the opportunity to explore how capability providers can help DISA/JSP achieve their vision for every mission
Session: Zero Trust: Protecting Data at the Source
A concerted effort must be made to protect critical sensitive data and not just the network. The data is what an adversary is trying to steal and manipulate. A zero trust approach to data security doesn’t rely upon a trusted core and implements dynamic access controls to data. This approach can defend against and stop threats in real time. This model can be leveraged by a project or organization of any size and ensures continuous compliance with guidelines such as the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
