Fulton, MD – November 4, 2024 – RackTop is proud to announce BrickStor 23.7, a milestone release which includes new AI capabilities for RackTop’s patented Active Defense, improved ‘bad actor’ threat prevention, a brand-new dynamic user interface, and expanded performance, scalability and reliability improvements. Some of the marquee features of this release are:
Hub – the Hub is RackTop’s brand new centralized management interface. It unifies management of your entire BrickStor fleet under a common operator environment, and provides dynamic updates using the latest real-time communication and self-updating web UI technology.
S3 (tech preview) – datasets can now be simultaneously shared using SMB, NFS and the newly added S3 protocol, while respecting NTFS and NFS ACLs. S3 support is in tech preview and is anticipated to be GA in an upcoming minor release.
SMB & NFS – the SMB service received numerous performance and scalability improvements, including a new high-performance work queueing mechanism. Other improvements include more granular interface listener configuration options, and faster GMAC signing. NFS shares can now be assigned a free-form name which overrides the traditional Unix path style export.
TDM – the transparent data movement service has been overhauled to handle higher throughput and performance for concurrent users and data ingest, with lower overall resource utilization. It has been re-architected with an improved core which will enable future improvements and expanded capabilities. An L1 cache with dynamic prefetch was added in this release, resulting in exponential performance gains for concurrently accesses and large files.
High Availability – the high availability subsystem has been expanded to include faster failure detections and safer failovers. HA now supports virtual machine deployments.
Active Defense – RackTop’s patented active defense services have been updated with a continuous learning engine, known as the long term assessor, which will enable improved customer augmented detection based on more detailed pattern behavior. The active defense services were also expanded to alert on additional system level insider threat related activities.
